Indian Beverage Association formed

Leading Indian beverage companies have come together to form non-alcoholic beverage association to protect their interests. Coca Cola India, Pesico India, Dabur India Ltd, Red Bull India Pvt Ltd, Tetra Pak India Pvt Ltd, Bengal Beverages Ltd, Pearl Drinks Ltd, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd have joined along with the Indian Soft Drinks Manufacturers Association. Mr. Arvind Verma is named as secretary-general for the association which is called “Indian Beverage Association”

Himachal Pradesh to revive Kangra Tea

Himachal Pradesh government is planning to revive Kangra tea which is famous for its flavour than is color. HP Agricultural University is to cultivate Kangra tea over 150 hectares. Apart from this around 7700 hectares of land had been identified in all districts to cultivate organic tea. The tea is very popular in Afghanistan and recently it production had been dropped by cheaper substitutes from other parts of Asia.

Parle Agro introduces green apple juice

Parle Agro, which is present in the health based 100% juice segment with its brand “Saint” has launched a new variant green apple juice. It is importing juice concentrate from Austria and is packaging it in its Hyderabad plant. The current market for 100 % juice category is estimated at Rs.2000 million where as carbonated drinks are valued at Rs.25000 million. however, the non carbonated drinks are growing at 15-20% annually.
