Nadukkara Agro Processing Co to integrate food processing park

Nadukkara Agro Processing Co Ltd, the company who manufactures Jive food drink is setting up an integrated food processing park that will have facilities or pre-cooling, grading and sorting, washing, pre-treatment and packing of pineapples according to international standards. Currently, the company uses air transport to export pineapples which adds cost while, processed pineapple can be exported by sea which turns out to be cheaper. The new facility will have a capacity of 200 tonnes of fresh pineapples and it was set up with an investment of Rs. 36.5 million.

Food Karnataka Ltd to set up food park in Ittangihala in Bijapur

Karnataka government is planning to set up a food processing park in Ittangihala village Bijapur. The park is expected to process banana, citrus fruits, pomegranate, grape ( for wines) and other traditional curry powders. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 238 million and is expected to be commissioned by 2012. The company Food Karnataka Ltd may opt to fund the project by viability gap funding.

Keventer Agro plans food processing plant at Sanand

Keventer Agro plans a food processing plant at Sanand with an investment of Rs. 750 million. The new plant is coming up in an area of 30 acres and it will process seasame seeds, mushroom, oilseeds, peanut and others. The company had achieved financial closure and the plant is to become operational by end 2010

Himalaya International to set up canned soup plant at Vadinar

Himalaya International Ltd, a food processing company is planning to set up a canned soup plant at Vadinar in Mehesana district in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 120 million. The new project is being set up with technology sourced from US based Wayne Farms Limited which is associated with Camobells Soup Company (the largest soup manufacturer in the world) canned soup would be launched in indian and overseas market by January 2011 under its brands ‘Himalya Fresh’ and ‘Uno Italiano’ and also under private label. Traditional soups like tomato and mushroom soups are likely to be branded under ‘Himalaya Fresh’ and Italian flavour are likely to be launched under the ‘Uno Italiano’ brand. The company expects to use 50% capacity for exports and around 40 tonnes of vegetables are required to make use of its full capacity.
