Himalaya International to set up canned soup plant at Vadinar

Himalaya International Ltd, a food processing company is planning to set up a canned soup plant at Vadinar in Mehesana district in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 120 million. The new project is being set up with technology sourced from US based Wayne Farms Limited which is associated with Camobells Soup Company (the largest soup manufacturer in the world) canned soup would be launched in indian and overseas market by January 2011 under its brands ‘Himalya Fresh’ and ‘Uno Italiano’ and also under private label. Traditional soups like tomato and mushroom soups are likely to be branded under ‘Himalaya Fresh’ and Italian flavour are likely to be launched under the ‘Uno Italiano’ brand. The company expects to use 50% capacity for exports and around 40 tonnes of vegetables are required to make use of its full capacity.
