KPR Mills to set up greenfield sugar mill in Bijapur

KPR Mills is planning to set up a greenfield sugar mill in Bijapur district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 3250 million. The sugar mill will have a capacity of 5000 tcd and a cogeneration plant of 34 MW. The plant is likely to go operational in 12-14 months.

Vishwanath Sugar to expand its Hukkeri unit

Vishwanath Sugar & Steel Industries is planning to expand its sugar manufacturing capacity from 5500 tcd to 7000 tcd at Hukkeri in Belgaum district of Karnataka. It will also expand its distillery unit from 35 klpd to 70 klpd. The project is likely to go operational by July 2012.

Lokmanya Sakhar Udyog is setting up a sugar manufacturing unit in Kapashi in Satara district in Maharashtra with an investment of Rs. 1800 million. The plant will have a capacity of 3500 tcd and will also have a 30 klpd distillery and a 16 MW cogen plant. The project is likely to go operational in March 2012. NSL Sugars plans sugar refinery at Orissa

NSL Sugars is planning to set up a sugar refinery in Orissa with an investment of Rs. 8000 million. The company is looking to acquire land for the project which will have a capacity of 2000 tpd. It plans to commission the project by first quarter of 2012. The plant will import raw sugar to refine the same for exports.
