Indian Potash Ltd to expand sugar plant capacity

Indian Potash Ltd, which has diversified into sugar with purchase of sugar mills from the UP State Corp is planning to expand it further. It has bought the sugar mills at Rs.650 million and will invest now Rs.10000 million to modernize them and expand their capacities. Currently, the acquired mills have 5000 tcd capacity and it plans to increase it to 20000 tcd either by acquisition of new mills or by expansion.

TN to invest Rs. 1,1256 million to modernize sugar mills

TN government is planning to invest Rs.11,256 million to modernize sugar mills in the state and to generate 183 MW of power through cogeneration. A sum of Rs.8493 million had been allocated to set up cogeneration plants in 10 co-operative sugar mills. Work on sugar mills had started in districts of Villiupuram (10 mills), Namakkal, Thanjavur and Madurai. Out of 183 MW, 120 MW will be sold to TNEB. The National Sugar mill in Alanganallur will increase its capacity to 2500 tcd in this modernization programme

Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd plans 1000 tpd sugar refinery at Kandla

Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd is planning to set up a sugar refinery at Kandla in Kutch district of Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1800 million. The refinery will import feedstock through Kandla port. The investment is to be met through long term loan and promoters equity. It is slated to be commissioned by mid 2011. It will have a capacity of 1000 tpd.

Shree Renuka Sugars plans sugar refinery at Kandla

Shree Renuka Sugars is planning to set up a sugar refinery using imported feedstock near Kandla port in Kutch district of Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1200 million. The refinery will have a capacity of 3000 tpd and is ideal for exports too as it will reduce transportation charges. It is slated to become operational by 2011
