Vitthalrao Shinde Sahakara Sakhar Karkhan plans distillery at Gangamainagar in Madha Taluk in Solapur district of Maharashtra. The project involves expanding molasses based distillery unit from 30 KLPD to 60 KLPD to produce Rectified Spirit (1800 KL/month) or Extra Neutral Alcohol (1800 KL/month) or Ethanol (1800 KL/month) and Fusel Oil (3.6 KL/month) based on continuous fermentation process. The distillery unit will operate for 270 days in a year and is attached to sugar unit of 3500 tcd capacity and another sister unit of 2500 tcd located 3.5 kms away from the site. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 280 million.

The distillery unit will be based on grains (maize, jowar and broken rice) and will produce RS/ENA/Ethanol. The project also involves setting up of a 6.5 captive power generation unit. The total project cost will be around Rs.1500 million.

Chamundi Distilleries to expand its distillery at Maliyur in Narasipur Taluk in Mysore district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 1200 million. The project involves expanding distillery unit from 27 KLPD to 220 KLPD by setting up two distillery unit each of 110 klpd capacity to produce Rectified Spirit/ENA/Anhydrous Alcohol based on continuous fermentation process. It will also produce impure alcohol as by-product. The proposed expansion will be carried out at the existing premises unit.
