Simbhaoli plans new sugar refinery at Kandla

Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd(SSL) is planning to invest Rs. 1800 million to set up a greenfield sugar refinery at Kandla in Gujarat. It will have a capacity of 3 lakh tpa of white sugar and has plans to acquire 9 more acres of land to expand in the future. The company has a technical capabilities to refine sugar at USD 65 and it has 2 sugar plant in Uttar Pradesh with full fledged capabilities. The project was being set up with technical support of Integrated Casetech Consultants and in-house team.

The project is now being implemented with 50:50 joint venture with global agri-business group E D F & Man Holdings and the project cost had been revised to Rs. 2350 million.
