Moksha Yug Access (MYA) has launched a brand 'Milk Route' that will cover a range of dairy products- pasteurized toned milk, UHT toned milk and UHT low fat milk in various packing options. Initially, the product will be introduced in Bangalore. The company, had been established in B2B segment of dairy industry is now venturing into consumer market.
Parag Milk Foods is planning to set up a dairy unit in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 800 million to soak up the excess milk production in the state. It will produce value added dairy products here. The state produces 11.3 million litres but only 13 % is procured by the organized sector and it shows farmers are saddled with excess milk.
Tamil Nadu Government is planning to modernize its dairies across the state. It has been allotted funds to the tune of Rs. 29.9 million towards Pudukkottai and Virudhunagar cooperatives. The state government has allotted Rs. 214.1 million to upgrade the dairies at Vellore, Ambattur, Krishnagiri, Kakalur, Madhavaram, Sholinganallur, Erode and Villupuram. The Kakkalur dairy capacity is also expanded to 36 million litres to meet the Chennai city requirements. The state cooperatives procure 2.1 million litres of milk daily.
Vadilal, the leading ice cream major in northern India has forayed into dairy sector with launch of flavoured milk 'Power Sip'. It has been launched in Gujarat and Maharashtra and with favourable response, the company is introducing it in Uttar Pradesh where it enjoys high market share. The flavoured milk is priced at Rs.18/- and comes in different flavours like rose, kesar, elachi and will also come with new flavours like chocolate, badam and coffee.
