Amrit Group to venture into dairy business

Kolkatta based Amrit Group is venturing into dairy food business to become a complete player in food business. They intend to launch 3 varieties of milk viz. Cow milk, toned milk and double toned milk and they have done test marketing which is very encouraging. The company is also exploring possibilities to produce value added milk products for infants and aged people with special nutrients. Currently, the company has a dairy farm with 1000 animals (cows and buffaloes) and production facility of 50,000 litres per day.

Elbit India to set up dairy farm in Palamner in AP

Elbit India Agricultural Ventures, to start a dairy farm with 10,000 cattle at Palamaner in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. Elbit would invest about Rs 600 crore in the project that would come up on 350 acre. Another unit would also come up at Pulivendula in Kadapa later. High milk yielding cattle from New Zealand would be brought for embryo transfers here.

Milkfed plans to upgrade technology of its dairy plant

Punjab State Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Ltd, which is known as Milkfed is planning to upgrade technology and ramp up its capacity of Mohali plant by 200,000 liters per day from 100,000 liters per day with an investment of Rs. 150 million. Its tetra packaging line capacity will also be tripled to 6 million packets with an investment of Rs. 100 million. The federation has hired Rabo India Finance to conduct a study to prepare a strategic vision. It has recently commissioned a butter wraping and a carton packing machine from Germany at its Ludhiana plant at a cost of Rs.50 million.
