Mohan Meaking is setting up a 200 klpd distillery at village Salempur, in tehsil Sikandra Rao in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. The unit will produce ethanol from molasses. The project also involves setting up of 4 MW captive power generation. The total project cost is estimated at Rs.860 million.

Madhucon Sugar and Power Industries is setting up 65 kld distillery unit at Khammam

Madhucon Sugar and Power Industries is expanding its existing sugar unit capacity from 1250 tcd to 3500 tcd at village Rajeshwarapuram Mandal Nelakondapalli in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh. It also plans to set up a grain based distillery with a capacity of 65 kld to produce RS/ENA/Ethanol Plant through Fermentation and Distillation using Bio-Still process and Molecular Sieve Technology. The Molasses will be sourced from companys own Sugar plant and grains will be purchased from external source. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 1570 million.

SVG setting up a new distillery unit in Sikkhim

SVG Pvt Ltd, a company promoted by Gujarat Ambuja is setting up a distillery unit plant at Sikkhim with investment around Rs.600 -700 million. The distillery unit will have a capacity of 1 lakh liters per day to produce whiskey from maize. The work on the project is nearing completion and is expected to commence commercial production by next month. Sikkhim is considered as ideal location as it has more than 40 bottling plants with proximity of Bihar, which is large producer of maize.

Kyundals Bol Brand to be launched in South India

Kyundal India Pvt Ltd along with Bols Lucas has formed a joint-venture Bols Kyndal. The joint-venture will sell genuine grape based brandy in south India. It has already launched the brand Bols brandy in Karnataka where the response is good. It may be noted, the southern states account for 85 % of the 30 million litre brandy market in India. The company aims to garner around 5% of market share and will introduce Sobieski Vodka, Louis VIII Congac, Bowmore single Malts, Piper Heidsieck Champagne among other brands later.
