Lotte opens new confectionery unit in Chennai

Lotte, a subsidiary of Lotte Confectionery, South Korea had set up a confectionery unit in Nemam village near Chennai. The plant was built with an investment of Rs. 3220 million and will have a capacity of 1.8 lakh cartons of Lotte Chocopie, which will cater mainly to exports and to domestic hotel and retail sector. The company has a 10 % market share over the country and a healthy 20% market share in southern states.
