Glaxo Smithkline which ventured into noodles, low priced milk food drinks and snack bars is venturing into high end and high margin cookies and premium biscuits segment. It will introduce products under the Horlicks brand. The segment is currently, dominated by Parle and Britannia and is valued at Rs.110,000 million. Already, other small players like Cremica, Anmol, Bonn and the other recent entrant ITC-Sunfeast is jostling for space here. While, Parle and Britannia enjoy 35% market share each, UK’s United Biscuits and American Kraft have also made their presence last year in this segment
