Campco expands its Puttur chocolate plant

Campco (The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative (Campco) Ltd) is expanding its chocolate manufacturing plant at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 75 million to increase its production capacity from 12000 tpa to 17000 tpa. To ensure continuous supply of raw materials the cooperative has supplied sapling to farmers at subsidised rates. The price of wet cocoa beans have also been raised from Rs. 28 a kg to Rs. 42 a kg
