Bannari Amman Sugars to set up a sugar plant at Thirukovilur in TN with an investment of Rs. 4500 million. It may be noted, the project was earlier conceived by Madras Cements of Ramco group. However, the company had decided against the project after toying it with for over two years. It had also acquired 240 acres in Villipuram district for cane development. Bannari Amman Sugars which has recently commissioned a plant at Chengam will implement this project.
