Two Sugar mills to be modernized in Orissa

Orissa- Aska Cooperative Sugar Industries Limited (ACSIL) and Bargarh Cooperative Sugar Mills (BCSM) are to modernized with an investment of Rs. 73.4 million. Budgetary provisions are made in the current financial year. The mills have been identified by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) under the Union ministry of agriculture. Machinery may be replaced by imported ones. Of this ACSIL has a crushing capacity of 1,219 tonnes per day and 27,270.8 tonnes of crushing capacity. These modernization moves are a must as the sugar mills are loosing out Rs.10 million to Rs.12 million every year in its current crushing operations.
