Thiru Arooran Sugars to expand its distillery at Umayalpuram in Papanasam taluk in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs. 420 million. The project involves expanding molasses based distillery unit from 60 KLPD to 90 KLPD for production of Rectified Sprit (RS) from molasses (from1800 KL/M to 2700 KL/M), Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) from RS (1800 KL/M), Anhydrous alcohol from RS (1800 KL/M). The molasses requirement will be met from the company’s own Sugar units located at Pennadam, Thirumanthakudi and Kottur.
