FieldFresh Foods to set up a manufacturing unit in Hosur

FieldFresh Foods, a joint-venture company between Del Monte Pacific arm, DMPL and Bharti Airtel is planning to invest Rs. 2000 million. In phase I, the company is setting up a manufacturing unit in Hosur with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. It will produce sauces, canned juices, mustard and mayonnaise. It is also likely to manufacture PET bottles locally. The company is scouting for technology partners to set up pineapple research unit in Siliguri. Currently, the company has presence in 25 cities with 15000 outlets and plans to double them in the next financial year.


 

Amrit Group to venture into dairy business

Kolkatta based Amrit Group is venturing into dairy food business to become a complete player in food business. They intend to launch 3 varieties of milk viz. Cow milk, toned milk and double toned milk and they have done test marketing which is very encouraging. The company is also exploring possibilities to produce value added milk products for infants and aged people with special nutrients. Currently, the company has a dairy farm with 1000 animals (cows and buffaloes) and production facility of 50,000 litres per day.
 

Oceanic Edibles commissions food processing plant

Oceanic Edibles International, a company of Oceana group with diversified interests has commissioned a food processing plant at Pondicherry with 23 tonnes/hr capacity with -18 deg Celsius storage at Marakanam near Pondicherry. The project entailed an investment of Rs.900 million. Last year the company ventured into contract farming and was successful and likes to repeat the same. Oceanic Edible exported 9000 tonnes of mango pulp, tomato paste, fruit concentrates and purees to global brands viz.J Garcia, Netra, Stute and Cargil and locally to Nestle.
 

Apex plans food processing unit in Vizag


Apex Encon Projects Private Limited a Delhi based company is setting up a cold storage and food processing unit at Saluru near Visakhapatnam with an investment of about Rs 200 million. The company is already into defence food processing and packaging. It has around 370 acres of land at Saluru where they  cultivate vegetables and market under ‘farmers fresh’ brand. It will get Rs. 100 million as subsidy from Centre and Rs.70 million from financial institutions and Rs.30 million from promoters.
