Hemarus Technologies Ltd plans 3500 tcd sugar plant at Hudai in Belgaum district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 280 million. The project also involves setting up of 50 klpd distillery and a 20 MW cogeneration power unit. The new unit will operate for 240 days in a year and will consume sugar cane (3500 TPD), lime (4.9 TPD) and sulphur (1.2 TPH) and the distillery unit will consume  molasses, urea (0.10 TPD), antifoam (0.05 TPD), DAP (0.05 TPD), yeast culture (0.01 TPD) and sulphuric acid (0.10 TPD).
