CavinKare launches Ghee in TN markets

CavinKare, a diversified group which had entered into dairy segment last year is extending its product line by launch of ghee in TN markets. This move will help to consolidate its entry into this segment and plans to be the top 3 players in the state. It also plans to enter Karnataka and Kerala markets soon. It has launched products in PET, standee pouch and sachet and is available in 500 ml, 200 ml, and 25 ml sachet. It also plans to launch 1000 ml PET soon.

Jaypee to foray into dairy segment

Jaypee Group is all set to foray into dairy segment with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. It is setting up a milk processing plant with a capacity of one million liters per day near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. The plant is likely to go operational in the next 18 months. The company will also set up a own breeding farm to show case best practices but also procure milk locally from farmers. It may be noted, big names like Reliance have also entered into the lucrative dairy business.

Karnataka Milk Federation plans mega dairy in Bangalore

Project Capacity : 1 million lpd

Karnataka Milk Federation is planning to set up a mega dairy complex in Bangalore with an investment of Rs. 750-800 million. It will have a processing capacity of 1 million liters per day. The company is also in talks with Fontera group of New Zealand to set up a cheese processing unit with a capacity of 50 tonnes a year. It is also in talks with Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (Campco) Ltd for manufacturing chocolates under its brand name "Nandini"

Karnataka to improve dairy production in north Karnataka

Project Location : Karnataka, Karnataka

Karnataka governmentis improving dairy production in norther Karnataka which is relatively backward to southern Karnataka. It has invested Rs.11.3 million to set up 226 dairly co-operatives in Raichur, Koppal, Gulbarga, Bidar, Bellary, Bagalkot and Dharwad district which has helped milk production going up by 8% in 2009-10. It has also spent Rs.100 million to improve veterinary facilities at Athani and Gadag.
